How true is it that artificial intelligence will take away human jobs?

According to a new analysis by the International Monetary Fund, artificial intelligence (AI) will affect nearly 40 percent of all jobs.

IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said, “ In utmost circumstances AI'll probably worsen inequality overall."

Ms Georgieva added that policy makers should discuss this 'critical trend' to counter the technology. It focuses on the benefits and risks of AI proliferation.

The IMF says AI will impact a large portion of jobs in advanced economies. It's about 60 percent. In half of these cases, workers can expect to benefit from the concentration of AI, which will enrich their productivity.

"It is very difficult for countries to build a comprehensive social safety net and re-train programs for vulnerable workers," Ms Georgieva said. Miss Georgieva.

The IMF analysis came as global business and political leaders gathered at the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland. AI came into the discussion after the popularity of applications like ChatGPT. Technology worldwide is facing this increased regulation.

Last month, European Union officials reached a tentative agreement on the world's first law to regulate the use of AI.

China has introduced the world's first national regulation on AI, which includes rules on how algorithms can be developed and deployed.

President Biden signed an executive order in October, forcing developers to share AI-related security findings with the US government. The following month the UK hosted an AI Safety Summit, where several countries signed a declaration on the safe development of technology.

Incidentally, in 2019 a research team called OpenAI developed a software that could write only a few paragraphs of meaningful text. Besides, this software could read something without specific instructions and could understand it and analyze it to some extent. OpenAI initially decided not to open up their software, which they named GPT-2, to the public. They feared that people would use it to spread misinformation and lies for evil purposes. Announcing the decision in a press release at the time, OpenAI's research team said, "This is too dangerous."

After that, the capabilities of artificial intelligence have increased manifold. OpenAI's GPT-2 was released to a limited number of users. But when they later released GPT-3 on the market, it was immediately made available for everyone to use.

When journalists and experts were testing the capabilities of this programming chatbot-gpt, their eyes widened. Thousands of news reports and social media posts have been written using Chatbot-GPT. It is a stand-up comedy written in the style of the late comedian George Carlin about the bankrupt Silicon Valley Bank of the United States.

It gave views on the theory of Christianity. Wrote poetry. Quantum theory of physics explained to the child. Other models of artificial intelligence, such as DAL, have produced images so perfect that there has been debate over whether they should be featured on art websites.

Machines have also become creative, at least to the naked eye. When OpenAI launched their latest version of GPT-4, they said that it has built-in measures to prevent abuse. Its first customers include Microsoft, US bank Merrill Lynch and the government of Iceland.
